The focus of the present study was to collect and synthesize existing information relevant to explosive removal of offshore structures in aquatic environments. While the expected application of this knowledge may include U.S. waters (e.g., Gulf of Mexico, California, and Alaska OCS), the scope of this effort is worldwide. Sensitive marine resources considered in this analysis include marine fishes, marine turtles, and marine mammals. The primary study objectives were to: 1) provide a summary of available information by topic; 2) identify information and data gaps that could be filled by subsequent research activities; and 3) recommend areas of research to meet MMS information needs.
