An acoustic modeling study was performed to estimate source levels, beam configuration, and sound exposure levels from a set of low energy equipment used in geophysical surveys. The findings of the study will be used for preliminary assessment of the acoustic impact of geophysical surveys planned in the coastal waters of the State of California. The low energy equipment types covered in the study are: – Single beam echosounder, – Multibeam echosounder, – Side-scan sonar, – Sub-bottom profiler, and – Boomer.
